Best practice in evidence for NDIS application

It was our honored to host the information sessions in August 2022, collaboratively partnership with Metro Assist (was previously known as Migrant Resources Center) in conducting both in Chinese and English that navigates people who might think they are eligible for accessing NDIS supports. There were about 45 young families who are coming from culturally & linguistically diverse background.

Most common questions are how much evidence they would be required to demonstrate that meets the eligible. We heard, how overwhelming information could be. We direct them to work this out with their treating professionals including any member of a multidisciplinary team, namely, psychologist, occupational therapist and/or speech therapist. They will use relevant tools to complete their assessment that they can work from there for you.

Another source for confirmation of diagnosis is run through The Developmental Disability Assessment Team (DDAT) conduct clinical assessments.  For kids under school aged, they offer to confirm diagnostic and assessment.  This is a free service but a referral from a GP or specialist is required.
